Collaborative Divorce is a non-adversarial approach to divorce. Each parent has an Attorney and a Divorce Coach. The children meet with a Child Specialist. Dr. Drutman regularly serves as Collaborative Divorces Coach and Child Specialist.

- Work with the parents so they do not make poor, emotionally driven decisions
- Assist the parents in creating a custom fit Parenting Plan that meets the unique needs of the particular family
- Integrates feedback from the Child Specialist into the crafting of the Parenting Plan
- Educates the parents about child development, post-divorce co-parenting, and conflict resolution
The Collaborative Divorce Child Specialist
- Meets with the parents to learn about the children
- Meets with the children to understand their understanding and reaction to their parents’ pending divorce
- Serves as a voice for the children
